Winter Solstice
“Winter Solstice” is a four-minute projection mapping project exploring the winter solstice, the day with the fewest hours of daylight and the longest night of the year. Through an aesthetic inspired by cosmic elements, it conveys the contrasting sensations associated with winter and the end of the year: calm, excitement, nostalgia and contemplation. In this creation, Moon and Sun punctuate the evocation of the time and space of this winter period, using old celestial maps and drawings. Snowflakes act as a graphic metaphor for stars and establish a symbolic link between the themes of winter and solstice.
The color palette also reflects the nuances of the season, evoking the cold light of winter, the warmth of festive moments, and the deep contrasts between night and day. The project establishes a connection between the vast celestial events that envelop us, using astronomical representations and graphic forms, and the intimate emotions associated with this season.
